Emirates Fleet Expansion

Emirates announced an order for 65 Boeing 777-9 planes and eight Airbus A350-900 jets, costing $41.4 billion. These orders bring their total wide-body aircraft to 375, with deliveries planned until 2038. Emirates also announced new partnerships to explore drone deliveries and AI technology to improve services.

flydubai’s Growth Plans

flydubai signed a deal to buy 75 Boeing 737 MAX planes worth $13 billion. This shows their plan to grow and expand flights in the region. The airline also agreed to buy 150 Airbus A321neo planes with options for 100 more. This marks a major step in expanding their narrowbody fleet beyond Boeing planes.

Space and Innovation

The airshow featured the UAE’s biggest space pavilion ever, run with the UAE Space Agency. Over 50 experts and astronauts came to discuss space technology and how to work together globally. This reflected the UAE’s goal to lead in space innovation and technology.

Sustainability and Operations

Dubai Airshow 2025 focused on sustainability. They used sustainable aviation fuel and clean energy for ground support and exhibition halls. The event ran smoothly thanks to good teamwork among government teams that managed visitors and services well.

Defence Sector Deals

Tawazun Council signed contracts worth over Dh1 billion at the show. These deals covered drones, rescue equipment, aircraft parts, and maintenance services. Both local and international companies joined to support the UAE’s defence and security industries. Other key defence deals included technical support contracts with firms like Lockheed Martin.

Regional Growth and Future Outlook

Other airlines also made new aircraft commitments. Uzbekistan Airways agreed to lease six Airbus A321neos, and Buraq Air chose the Airbus A320neo family for their first jets. Airlines including Silk Way West and Gulf Air announced large cargo and passenger aircraft orders, reflecting growing demand for air travel and freight in the region. Dubai aims to expand its Al Maktoum International Airport to five runways, preparing for future growth.
