As we can see, some companies still do not have their website or any digital footprint. It means that some companies still do not realize the importance of having an online presence. 

The online presence is vital for small and medium enterprises, especially for those who want to gain a foothold highlighting against its competitors. In the digital age, not having an internet presence is the same as not existing. Consumers are looking to connect with businesses more than ever, and establishing an Internet presence through a website, blog, or social channels provides a great way to meet this market demand. But there are still many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that lack an online presence and are unaware of the benefits of having an Internet presence.

So, here we are going to talk to you about the importance of online presence for your business.

Increases credibility of your business

Users expect companies to have an ‘online’ space from which to publicize the products or services they offer to increase customer confidence. A business that does not have a presence on the internet, both on the web and on social networks, will be interpreted as an improvised or unconsolidated business. Now that the Internet is the preferred source of information today, it is important that companies are there, allowing them to compete with the large companies in the market with a more accessible budget than traditional media.

People expect you to be present on internet

It doesn’t matter if you live in Dubai, California, Mexico, or Spain, people expect you to have an online presence. For example, imagine a very impatient person needs a service that you offer. And a person has already recommended you, but for work reasons, you can’t answer the phone on time. So this person now tries to search you on the internet to have more information about your company. Guess what happens next? Of course! It won’t find you. 

However, when that person searches for your business, all your competitor’s websites will appear. Most likely, this person ends up contacting the competition just because they did offer information when he needed it. 

According to statistics, 6 out of 10 people expect to be able to find information on the internet about a business or company in which they are interested. This is a pretty strong reason to have an online presence or at least start building it.

Helps you to reach a wider audience 

The internet is global – it’s everywhere. How far will a newspaper ad take you? Probably just your city or region! On the Internet, there are no limits. Your audience is as large as you want – anyone interested in your products and services can easily find your website if it’s built right, allowing you to expand your audience from local to global. And, you can reach this global audience without sacrificing the attention you dedicate to the venue. Your online presence, with a solid search engine optimization (SEO) strategy, can easily attract people from all over the world, as well as customers on your street.

Lastly, many small business owners trust the use of third-party platforms or avoid setting up their own websites because they think it is complicated or expensive. But building and maintaining a website is easier and cheaper than ever. Thus, it is recommendable to small business owners, to give no more excuses. If you are delaying the creation of a website, it is hurting your business.
